HMCPSI Chief Inspector’s Annual Report: 2017-18
Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI) has today published its Annual Report 2017-18, setting out the work of the Inspectorate in 2017-18.
During that period we completed our Area Assurance Programme (AAP) of inspections, with the exception of London North and London South which will be assessed against AAP criteria in 2018-19. This means that for the first time we have been able to give a detailed snapshot of CPS performance over a relatively short period of time. We believe that this is an important contribution to our statutory duty to provide information on the operation of the CPS.
The Report sets out too some of the other inspections we have carried out, either by ourselves or jointly with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS, previously Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary).
