HMIC’s efficiency inspection of the Police Service of Northern Ireland assessed how a force makes the best use of its available resources with the overall question ‘How efficient is the force at keeping people safe and reducing crime?’

Effectiveness, PEEL, Vulnerability  — 

In this inspection of effectiveness (vulnerability) in the PSNI, HMIC examined the overall question ‘How effective is the PSNI at protecting from harm those who are vulnerable, and supporting victims?’ This question considered how the service responds to and supports missing children and victims of domestic abuse, and assessed how well prepared the service is to respond to and safeguard children at risk of sexual exploitation.

The assessment covers the full breadth of policing work inspected by HMIC, and an overview of police forces in England and Wales.
