Between 16 and 20 October 2023, Care Inspectorate Wales, HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and Education and training inspectorate for Wales (Estyn) carried out a joint inspection of the multi-agency response to abuse and neglect of children in Powys.

In early 2014, we began a national programme of child protection inspections. We also scrutinise the treatment of children in custody, and assess how forces are structured, led and governed, in relation to their child protection services.
