By 31 August 2015, all chief constables should satisfy themselves that they have processes in place to ensure that investigations into misconduct by officers and staff resulting in “no further action” are fair and free of any form of discrimination.

There are a number of processes in place which will ensure outcomes into misconduct are fair and free from discrimination. Since June 2015, the MPS has used legally qualified chairs. All operational command units have Appropriate Authorities that receive training and also attend quarterly professional standards champions meetings which address key themes / issues.
