Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector was invited to give a speech at the Police Federation’s 2016 conference. In his speech he talks about the importance of HMIC’s annual assessments of police effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy (PEEL) in making the work of frontline police officers more productive. Additionally, he introduced the project to design force management statements, inviting the Police Federation of England and Wales to play a full part in their development.
