Police effectiveness 2015 – Dyfed-Powys Police

Summary

As part of its annual inspections into police effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy (PEEL), HMIC’s effectiveness programme assessed how effective the force is at keeping people safe and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. This inspection focused on four aspects of policing: preventing crime and anti-social behaviour; investigating crime and managing offenders; protecting vulnerable people and supporting victims; and tackling serious and organised crime. An assessment of how the force protects vulnerable people was published in December 2015, but it still forms a part of the overall judgment of force effectiveness.

As well as the publication of vulnerability (part of effectiveness), the effectiveness assessment follows on from reports on efficiency in autumn 2015 and legitimacy in spring 2016, which together make up the three pillars of the annual PEEL assessment.
