Summary

There has been a keen desire to modernise the criminal justice system (CJS) for a number of years and a central part of this modernisation is to use a digital approach to prepare and present cases in the CJS.

This report details the findings of a joint inspection undertaken by Her Majesty’s Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI) and HMIC assessing the progress made to date in the roll out of case file information digitisation.
