States of Jersey Police - An inspection of the States of Jersey Police
Summary
In 2018, The Jersey Police Authority invited HMICFRS to inspect the States of Jersey Police.
We conducted fieldwork for this inspection in December 2018 and January 2019, at a challenging time when the force had no chief officer (equivalent to chief constable) and a major restructure had been implemented.
We found that the force served the Bailiwick of Jersey population well in terms of crime scene attendance, the investigation of crime and financial investigation.
We also identified areas in which there is scope for improvement, and in some cases, we have made specific recommendations. Our report identifies 24 areas for improvement and makes 18 recommendations.
