Policing in Austerity: Rising to the Challenge
Note: Strategic planning, organisational management and value for money is now a part of out PEEL reports.
In the October 2010 spending review, the Government announced that central funding to the police service in England and Wales would be reduced in real terms by 20% in the four years between March 2011 and March 2015.
HMIC’s Valuing the Police Programme has tracked how forces have planned to make savings to meet this budget reduction. This report explains, analyses and makes recommendations in relation to what we found as we entered the third year of the spending review period.
