Youth Justice Services (YJSs)

Youth Justice Services (YJSs) are multi-agency teams, co-ordinated by local authorities, that aim to reduce offending by young people. Police forces have a statutory duty to support YJSs and play an integral and active part in providing the relevant services. Each police force will have at least one YJS in its area. YJSs were previously called Youth Offending Teams and this name may still be used in some areas.
