streamlined forensic reporting

« Back to Definitions and Interpretations

Process designed to enable investigators, scientists and prosecutors to comply with the Criminal Procedure Rules in the interests of justice in cases involving forensic evidence.

It is intended to provide forensic evidence for the court that is proportionate to the seriousness of the offences charged and that adequately conveys the scope of the offending behaviour for sentencing purposes. The rationale is to reduce the need for full forensic evidence that addresses problems not in dispute.
