Stalking Protection Order (SPO)

civil order that can be sought by the police to enable early police intervention, pre-conviction, to address stalking behaviours before they become entrenched or escalate in severity and to protect victims from more serious harm; there is no restriction as to the stage of the criminal justice process at which an order may be made, and depending on the circumstances an order could also be made following conviction or acquittal
