Multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH)

Arrangements that allow organisations with responsibility for the safety of vulnerable people to work together. Organisations work alongside each other, share information and co-ordinate activities, often through co-locating staff from the local authority, health agencies and the police. Most safeguarding partner agencies support these arrangements so that risks to vulnerable children can be identified early. The MASH model was endorsed in the Munro Review of Child Protection, and the Care Act 2014 highlights the benefits of MASH arrangements to adult safeguarding professionals.
