A record created for a reported incident of rape or attempted rape, whether from victims, witnesses or third parties, which hasn’t been immediately recorded as a confirmed crime of rape. This can include where there is credible evidence that the rape didn’t occur or where the rape occurred in another force area and was transferred to the relevant force to record and investigate.
