4P-approach

Among other strategies, the Government’s counter-terrorism and serious organised crime strategies advocate that counter terrorism and serious and organised crimes are tackled using the ‘4P’ approach that:

  • pursues offenders through prosecution and disruption or stops terrorist attacked happening;
  • prepares for crime or terrorist attacked occurring and mitigates impact;
  • protects individuals, organisations and systems from the effects of crime or terrorist attack; and
  • prevents people from engaging in criminal or terrorist activities.
