Essex Police continues to engage in discussions at a senior level with the CPS to address delays in advice and charging decisions. There is also a file quality group that monitors the submission of files and timeliness. The force and CPS leads meet on a monthly basis to discuss case files timeliness and quality.

This recommendation is complete. Subsequent HMICFRS inspections have found constant improvements in the given area. And whilst work is ongoing to make further improvements the detail requirements of this recommendation have been met.
