HMIC is empowered under the Commissioners for Revenue and Customs Act 2005 to inspect the actions and omissions of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in preventing, detecting, investigating or prosecuting criminal offences.
This report examines the extent to which HMRC is meeting its statutory disclosure obligations under the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, as amended by the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
