HMIC invitation to prospective and declared police and crime commissioner candidates

HM Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) offers an independent and unique insight into police performance. We ask the questions the public would ask of policing, and publish our findings. We provide authoritative information to allow people to compare the performance of a force against others, and our evidence is used to promote improvements in the service to the public.

Ahead of the 2016 police and crime commissioner elections, HMIC is hosting three open sessions for prospective and declared police and crime commissioner candidates, to give an overview of our assessment of their forces, and of the role of HMIC more widely.

The sessions will be led by HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Sir Thomas Winsor, and the HMI responsible for the relevant forces.
